Unrequited
In mourning over you, I've been lying.
Reality has finally sunken in : you now belong to someone else.
Do they treat you right? What made you ultimately choose them over me? Do they love you as much as I could have and still do?
You know, I still remember the day that we first met.
Gosh, your eyes were so beautiful.
I get lost just thinking about them.
Next, that cute little dimple in your right cheek that poked out whenever you smiled.
You always could make me laugh about anything at every moment.
Then , the way your personality shined brighter than the North Star, the Milky Way and every constellation combined.
So friendly towards all things and people, the word 'angelic' should have your picture next to it.
Then, that day came.
I had finally gathered up enough courage to tell you my feelings, each and every one of them.
But something had beat me to the punch unexpectedly: A blue SUV had manically swerved and stolen your young life the night before.
I could not stomach the news, my heart had sunk to the bottom of my feet.
My true love would never know of how deeply I had bled for them, how I craved to just touch them one time so maybe a spark of their unmistakable magic would rub off onto me .
God, before I go to glue my pieces of my shattered heart back together, promise me that you'll treat your newest angel with all the tender, loving care that I was not and never will be able to give to them.
Remind them of how special they truly were to me and I will always love them, though they will never know just how much .
Sincerely, Me.
