Spotlight Series : My Life in High Heels

Hello, all you beautiful people! This week, I decided to be nice and give all you lovelies not one , but TWO episodes of the Spotlight Series for the week! Just in case you missed any of the other episodes or are new to my blog--welcome by the way!--and have NO idea what the heck I'm rambling about, simply scroll to the end of this post and click the link that says 'Spotlight Series" and you can get all the way caught up. [or you can click the link for my most recent episode: http://scarsofshe.blogspot.com/2014/06/spotlight-series-peculiar-treasures.html].

For this episode, my special guest is the gorgeous Amber Miller!!
Miss Amber is a simple  27 year old West Virginia girl in love with Jesus, fashion, coffee, diet Mountain Dew, and Chris Pine. A self-proclaimed lifelong West Virginia girl, Amber will  be moving across the pond to the land down unda-Australia on July 8 for the next two years to attend Hillsong Leadership College. Though someone may thinks she's an adventurous, fly by the seat of her pants girl--rest assured,  she's very much the opposite--a play by the rules, my life must go according to plan, organized freak kinda girl. Despite her nerves, Amber is beyond excited, viewing the situation regarding the big move as " that is where God has called me and I am more than a little excited to walk in his plan". She started My Life in High Heels about 3 years ago after a terrible breakup. (Not like a breakup where you knew the relationship wasn’t going anywhere but the kind where one day you are planning the wedding, the white picket fence, and the 2.5 kids and the next day you are crying over what went wrong as you clean the refrigerator with his old t-shirt.) She saw MLHH as  something to help her find herself again, post Mr. X. One of the most popular series  she writes is the The Single Girl Diaries, birthed after a second failed shot at white picket fences and wedding bells with the mysterious Mr. X.

How Amber's and mine paths crossed was unexpected, at least on my end. She followed me on Twitter out of the blue really, and me with my growing discernment and never ending curiosity, decided to check out her profile and ended up stumbling upon MLHH. The posts I've read so far have been enlightening, funny, bittersweet and down right relatable :) I swear her and Mandy Hale are secretly twins lol! [in case you don't know who Mandy is, she's one of my favorite authors!] So now, without any more holdup, cue the interview!

1)What is the purpose of Life in High Heels?
I want to inspire other women through my trials, flub-ups, and triumphs. I want to inspire other women to be themselves and embrace other women along the journey. Because let’s be real…life can be rough.

2) Why did you create Life in High Heels?
I was going through kind of a low point in my life and I just needed something. I created My Life in High Heels as kind of a “why not” and lo and behold it became a passion of mine.

3)Where do you see Life in High Heels going in the future?
Honestly, I have no idea and I am okay with that. When I began I was blogging for me. Then, I quickly got caught up with how many followers I had and how many people had viewed the blog that day. But now I am at a place again where I blog for me, and just marvel at the people who actually care about the thoughts in my head and my crazy beautiful life. So thanks!

4) Who or what inspired you to create Life in High Heels?
Well…I started blogging after a horrible breakup. Not like a breakup where you knew the relationship wasn’t going anywhere but the kind where one day you are planning the wedding, the white picket fence, and the 2.5 kids and the next day you are crying over what went wrong as you clean the refrigerator with his old t-shirt. I was obviously not on Mt. Everest in life moments, but I needed something to help me find myself again, post Mr. Ex.

5) How would your life be different if you didn't have Life in High Heels?
Hm.... well I would probably watch more Friends reruns while I ate even more bags of tortilla chips with salsa than I already do. {:Blogging takes time!:} But in all honesty I had no idea that blogging was an actual community. I have blogging friends from Texas, Florida, Arizona, all over. It’s crazy! I have met some incredible people and discovered women through blogging who inspire and challenge me. It’s crazy the power words on a screen can have.

Before I go, I want to take time out to again thank Amber for her honesty in her answers and best of luck with her big move down under :) she was an absolute delight to have on here!
