How One Instagram Post Changed My Life

You probably just read the title and are wondering  one of two things: how the heck can Instagram inspire you and what IG post am I referring to??

I personally am a big believer that the universe can present great opportunities in any form seen fit, including social media. Especially in this day and age where social media plays a vital role in how people connect and relate with one another--which can be both a good and a bad thing.But well save that discussion for another blog post altogether on a different day. This post, I chose to focus on the good. The post that I'm referring to is this one right here: 

About a few weeks ago, I had contacted the owner of Global Couture, Patricia, about the chance to guest blog for her (read all about how she started GC here). Truthfully, I wasn't really expecting a response back, but I figured "Ehh, what's the harm in at least trying??" Well, about a few days after that, I check my email inbox as if I were still in college --some habits are tough to break--and lo and behold, she responded back to me!!

Her response was as follows:

Hi Jazmine,
I love your 4c feature and your business features. I think that would be a good fit for my blog with a few tweaks to the questions.
Would you be interested?
I would like to have natural hair business owner spotlight interviews? 

I had to reread about six times to make sure that I wasn't dreaming, because surely I had to be! But no, it was very much real :)
So, of  course, I accepted the first chance I got and have been busy with that since. Essentially, what I'm doing is contacting the owner (s) of different small business--natural hair, fashion, beauty,etc---to see if they would like to be featured. So far, I've gotten a few responses back and will be debuting them very soon! I guess my real message with this post is to never underestimate the mediums that opportunity can be offered through, even if it is an app on your smart phone.
