This One Time in Pittsburgh. ...
What's up, ya'll?? :) okay, so I've been meaning to do this post for quite some time, but honestly I just got busy with night shift working and guest blogging--- also unexpectedly not having a computer for a bit didn't help much either :/ but no worries, it's all good now!
So, this was sort of inspired by the popular phrase "This one time at band camp.....", except there were no intimate escapdes NOR did this actually happen at band camp. About several weeks ago, I along with two of my sorority sisters journeyed to downtown Pittsburgh (which is gorgeous at nighttime, by the way) destined for the Altar Bar--which used to be an old church--to see one of my new favorite artists perform: Max Schneider!!
*in case you are clueless about who he is, he was Xander on the Nick TV show How to Rock, the main male lead opposite Keke Palmer in the Nick TV movie Rags and Ian in the NBC show Crisis.
Just to give you a bit of background behind things, the idea actually had arisen back in late March-early April after one college evening filled with jello making shenanigans with some of my sorority sisters. I discovered that a sister and I had shared a mutual appreciation for Max--she's also a huge Alexz fan, so double score for her--and came up with the idea to go see them perform at their show in Pittsburgh. However, some obligations had come up and threatened my chances to attend, but luckily, the universe was nice enough to be on my side after all. thank youuuuuu Universe :)
Now back to the story at hand: I had arrived in Pittsburgh for what would turn out to be the best concert so far of my young life. The opening act was Spencer Saylor, a 19 year old student at Capital University in Bexley, OH (shout out to all my Capital friends! lol) and man, was he awesome!
Check his Youtube channel out if you don't believe me :)
*I planned on inserting the actual vid of him performing at the concert, but Facebook denied my action :/ but 'tis 'kay.
Next up was someone a few of you may be a bit familiar with---Alexz (pronounced ALEX) Johnson! [for those of you that remember, she was Jude on the The N show, Instant Star--back when teenage TV was actually good to watch and JT York had my heart =P]. Alexz was just as wonderful, if not better, when compared to her Instant Star days in my book! And yes, you should check her out on Youtube as well :) you're welcome lol.
(We were super close to her!! Thank goodness my sisters didn't have sucky Droid batteries like I do, so I couldn't even take pictures :/ #droidprobs)
And finally, as if my night couldn't get any better, it was Max time, ladies and germs! The anxiety in the room from me and twenty-plus teeny boppers---I was among the "old people" unfortunately---was at an all time high, so when he finally came out, the energy went from like 50 to like 200 in an instant! The list of songs he performed was definitely all the way on point, along with his heart stopping falsetto ♡ [fun fact: I'm a sucker for a guy with a wonderful falsetto]. Plus, it didn't hurt that I was fairly close to him---by the way, he's WAY more handsome in person!
Honestly, it felt like I was at a concert watching Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake and James Brown all perform together at the same time! And to add even more icing to the cake, in a crowd sweep at the end of the show, his right hand had brushed across my left!!! If you thought I could fangirl before, that was nothing compared to the fangirling I did after THAT happened!! I even fought with my inner nurse because Jazmine the crazed fan didn't want to ever wash her hand again in life, but Jazmine the future registered nurse had delivered the "good hand hygiene" smackdown soon after LOL. I have to admit: he definitely surpassed my expectations and was soulful like no other! I'd say my $20 was very well spent ;)
