Liebster Award!!

Well, who would've thought that little ol' me would win an award?? for blogging, at that??? How exciting!

Well, rumor has it from my good homie Chelsea DeVries via SuperLux:
Liebster comes from the German language, and it means "beloved". This award exists only on the internet, and is given to bloggers by other bloggers and it follows similar principles as a chain letter, in the sense that it should be passed forward to a certain number of people.

1. Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog.

Goodness, where do I even start ?? Well, as some of you may know, Chelsea has become a very special person to me, even if she's in the sunnier South while I'm in the chillier North. Regardless of us meeting on the internet via the Single Woman Crew, I believe our friendship has the potential to grow and thrive beyond it. So when we finally meet face to face---cause it WILL happen---it will be an event full of epicness. SO, thank you, dear Chelsea, nominating me, as well as being the best cookie twin I could ask for <3

2.Display the award on your blog.
it's so purtyyyyy!
3. Answer 11 questions about yourself, which will be provided to you by the person who nominated you.

1) What's your favorite quote?
Don't be shocked LOL, but if you guessed that it's a MJ quote (Jackson not Jordan), you're indeed correct :) but it's "If you enter this world knowing you are loved and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with". This quote has a special meaning to me because someone very close to me  gave me their poster of Michael with that quote because they knew how much I admire, respect and love him to pieces.

2) What's your favorite song and why?
Honestly, I've got WAYYYY too many to choose just one! LOL

3) If you could meet anyone in person, who would it be and why?
For a male, It'd definitely be Michael because I really admire the passion that he had and the impact that he made on so many different people. Not to mention, he's pretty darn handsome :)
For a female, I would say Mandy Hale for virtually that same reason--except I'd replace handsome with pretty lol. Also, I like how Mandy's approach to talking to others is more like an older sister or a close friend, rather than some with a title, simply seeking to judge others.

4) Favorite book and why?
I honestly do not have one lol. there's way too many to choose from!

5) How do you view God?
I've been sort of dreading this question because honestly, I'm quite angry with God right now. The last month or so of my life has been hell from an emotional viewpoint. I've not felt a pain like that in quite some time, so when it came, I was obviously unequipped to fight it off. Even now, I don't feel like God is fully there for me , like I see with some others. I do want to be closer to God so I can feel Him, but right now, I'm just really hurt/angry/prideful to even really try like I should.

6) Share a story about a memory that haunts you.
My mom told me years ago about when I really young, one of my aunts kept me against my mom's  advice , and apparently since then, I haven't been the little happy go lucky girl I once was. It haunts me because I don't know if something happened and what it was. I have this unresolved closure.

7) Share a story about a time you overcame the odds.
would say earning my bachelor's degree had more than enough obstacles on that road, especially with majoring in nursing. I know quite a few people that switched majors because of the workload, time commitment and level of stress that comes along with it. It's a huge time investment, I will not lie there. However, I feel that you have to be a special type of person to be a nurse--someone that has a compassion level beyond what the average person can really encompass.

8) If money were no object, what would you do all day?
I would go on the biggest makeup shopping spree ever in life! lol. Also, I would donate money to as many charities as I could.

9) Anywhere you haven't traveled yet that you really want to and why?
I would love to go to either NYC or Cali. Outside the US I would love to go to Barcelona or Fiji.

10) What's your greatest accomplishment?
Definitely my Bachelor's!! As stated previously, it's been a long and difficult road to get there. but I made it :)))))

11) Share a dream you have for the future
a. about yourself--One day, I would love to start up a foundation for primarily elementary and middle school kids struggling with depression, bullying and feeling accepted. I believe that those are the years where one really gets the foundation that will impact who they are and who they will potentially become in later life. I believe that I would be more secure within myself if I had someone in my corner that I could trust to talk to and supported my different approach to life  as opposed to being criticized constantly.
b. about the world--one day, I hope for all the senseless violence to stop. There have been so many people within my generation that have ended up on the wrong side of the weapon, either wielding it or getting killed by it. There's been so many deaths within my hometown in the last five or so years, one being this past weekend. It hurts my heart that people that had the same opportunities as myself will now never be able to do the little things I often take for granted, like drink a glass of water, hug their family, walk down the street, or even blink their eyes. That's a gutwrenching feeling.

 4. Provide 11 random facts about yourself.
  • I've been in two car accidents within a 30 day span late last summer.
  • I've been crocheting since the age of nine
  • I've earned three degrees before the age of 25 (high school, associate's and bachelor's)

  • Whenever I eat colored candy (i.e. M&Ms, Skittles) or fruit snacks ,I have to eat one of each color in alphabetical order at the very end
  • I could easily spend all day in a bookstore or record store. I love reading all the different titles or stumbling upon priceless gems
  • My music taste ranges anywhere from 1940s to today, but my favorite era of music is hands down the 1970s
