Spotlight Series : Unashamed Impact

Hey, guys! It's time for another episode of the Spotlight Series!! I feel like it's been a while since I've done one, so I wanted to get back into it :) like always, before I bring out our special guest, I wanted to give you guys an opportunity  to play catch up in case you missed one or are completely new to my channel--welcome by the way--by clicking right here.
Now, please help welcoming in welcoming my very special guest, Brittney Moses!!
At the tender age of only 23 (yes, she's MJ status, y'all! Jordan not Jackson lol), Brittney has built up a pretty impressive resume over the course of her life. Currently, she is contributing her writings to The Christian Post, Whole Magazine, Married and Young & Emerging Evangelist; aside from writing,, she is also a wife and mother to her son, Austin (who is super adorbale, by the way :]). However, the largest accomplishment, which is what we'll be discussing in a bit, would be her organization, Unashamed Impact!

Care to elaborate for our readers, Britt?:

1) What is the purpose of Unashamed Impact (UI)?

Unashamed Impact is a movement organization I founded on July 27th 2012. The purpose is to unite young believers worldwide to be an example of what it looks like to live a positive lifestyle dedicated to Christ. This movement is breaking down the walls between race, denomination, location, background and gathering every soul willing to take a stand to be a light in this world. We’re fostering the visions of young leaders and we provide the tools they need to grow and create change in their city to their fullest God given potential. The goal is to gather, equip and send out.
We disciple, activate and encourage our city teams through 4 dynamics: Fellowship, Making an Impact (Social Justice & Community Outreach), Being an Example and Evangelism. Our city teams range internationally from Africa to the Dominican Republic and all across the US. We are a ministry/movement outside the four walls of the church bringing the Gospel to those who will not step foot into a church through social media, community events and outreach.

2) Why did you begin UI?

When I look at my generation and not only the decline of the most foundational morals but the increase of spiritual orphans wandering aimlessly through the world it literally breaks my heart.  And its my fear that a generation will shrink back in fear in their classrooms, peer circles, and everyday encounters paralyzed by the opinions of today’s progressive culture. That we’ll tip toe around the foundations of our faith and slowly become silent about the things that matter for the sake of avoiding conflict, rejection or even persecution. But when you come to the truth of Christ, you either face it or you reject it but you cannot change it. And when you’ve found this truth you stand on it and you fight for it because everything in life and all of eternity hangs on that truth.

I got tired of living in a culture promoting a life without substance; things like sex, drugs alcohol. We’ve heard it all before. So I had a vision of a generation after Gods heart rising boldly and living out their faith, being a light all across the globe in a dark world. The fallen state of our world and the identity crisis our youth are having in this world were just enough reasons to begin UI.

3) Where do you see UI going in the future?

We’re so excited for the direction Unashamed Impact is headed in within the next few months, next year, next 5 years! We have a vision for the future with no doubt that where we are now isn’t anywhere near where we always will be. Right now we have about 20 teams of young people in various communities from Africa to the Dominican Republic and all across the United States. At the core of our internal operations we have a “staff” of about 10 solid directors who oversee our various departments from our internship program, public relations, our social media team and recruitment team etc. I’ve got to say I’m inspired every day by each of these individuals, their leadership and their zeal to make this vision come alive.

In the future we’re looking to develop more programs to help build and develop our generation as leaders. Some recent departments we’ve launched are our women’s ministry and internship program. We’re looking at developing future programs such as a young single mothers group, a mission program partnering with our international connections, a suicide hotline and creating a scholarship fund for underprivileged youth among other things!

4) What has been one of the greatest moments since beginning UI?
I really don’t think I could just pick one. There have been so many great things that have happened within our family from people getting married, to people coming to Christ and seeing lives literally transform over the course of a year. That’s always awesome to witness. I think our conference was an incredible moment. Since we’re scattered across the county, being able to gather and fellowship intimately in one place for one weekend was almost overwhelming. Gods spirit was on that weekend so heavy no one wanted to leave. Great messages went forth, some received the gift of tongues, there was a number of deliverances at our campfire night and lifetime friendships were made. Such a great moment.

5) What has been a not so great moment since beginning UI?
We’ve had different obstacles which are natural with any type of ministry or organization especially when you’re trying to do Gods work, the enemy is constantly against you. Our twitter has been hacked a couple times along with our Monday night conference call lines. Those were pretty alarming because they’d try to put all types of explicit things out in our name. Good thing was that people knew us enough to know it couldn’t have been us. Sometimes you have conflict within because we are truly in the business of people and it can get sticky when you have different perspectives, backgrounds and personalities. At the end of the day we can usually come to common ground in Christ. Conflict and obstacles should be expected when you’re chasing after anything worth fighting for.

6) How would your life have been different if UI did not exist?
If UI didn’t exist I can imagine I’d still be very productive in some way whether that be continuing in my writing. I contribute to a lot of online sites and magazines. I might be working in a corporate position like I was before. There’s really no telling where God would have led me but I love what we do and wouldn’t trade it for the world. One life at a time we can impact eternity.
